Sean McCabe is a theatre writer and composer from Ottawa, Canada, now based in NYC.

 

His work has been produced by the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, New York Theatre Barn, the Drama League, Two River Theater, and elsewhere.

 

Sean's musical Saint Sebastian, with music by Jinhee Kim, has been produced by the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, New York Theatre Barn, and the NYU Tisch New Musical Theatre Workshop, and was shortlisted for the O'Neill National Music Theater Conference.

Sean's musical The Covenant, a queer re-telling of the story of David and Jonathan from the Book of Samuel, was recently developed at the Catwalk Art Institute and presented at the Dramatists Guild.

 

Sean won the Drama League's Anthem for the Future of Theatre for his song "One Day”, with music by Paulie Pecorella. Sean has his MFA from NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, and his BA and BEd from Queen's University in Canada.
